We Inspire Young People Across Borders Through “Making smART Choices”
Today, we’re taking a moment to reflect on something truly close to our hearts – a project that proved, once again, how art has the power to bridge cultures, open souls, and spark lifelong transformation.
This summer, in the magical foothills of Sliven, Re-Act proudly hosted “Making smART Choices” – a vibrant Erasmus+ youth exchange that brought together 38 young people from six countries: Bulgaria, Serbia, Spain, Portugal, North Macedonia, and Jordan. What made this week-long journey so unforgettable? The young people didn’t just attend – they created it.
“Making SmART Choices” Youth Exchange happened on the 6-13th of August and is co-financed by the Erasmus+ program.
From day one, youth participants took the lead. They envisioned the idea, shaped the concept, and curated a week full of creativity, connection, and co-creation. They explored photography, theater, music, and painting – not as spectators, but as artists, revealing new ways to express emotion, understand others, and find peace in creativity.
🟢 Art wasn’t just the topic. It was the language.
🟢 Inclusion wasn’t just a value. It was the essence.
🟢 And the impact? It still echoes through six countries, many hearts, and one beautifully changed community.
We are so proud that Making smART Choices gave space for expression, freedom, and joy – especially for young people from vulnerable backgrounds, some of whom performed on a stage for the first time in their lives.
A special thanks to our brave participants, incredible partners from across Europe and the Middle East, and our dedicated team who turned vision into vibrant reality. This project reminded us: art connects what words cannot, and Re-Act will continue to champion projects that do just that.
Stay tuned – this was just the first act!
