We hosted this one-of-a-kind Youth Exchange in the beautiful village of Varvara, Bulgaria. It happened 1 – 10th of September 2023, with partners from Finland, Romania, Spain, North Macedonia, Serbia and Greece, joining in an unforgettable story 36 amazing participants..

We have something special to share with you today.
It’s more than a success story—it’s a movement. A heartbeat. A spark that caught flame.
In September 2023, we brought together 36 passionate young changemakers from 7 countries under one powerful mission: to awaken the Local Leaders for Green Change. Nestled in the village of Varvara, surrounded by the gentle slopes of the Rhodopes, these youth gathered not just to talk sustainability, but to live it, create it, and lead it.
This Erasmus+ Youth Exchange wasn’t your average training. It was a bootcamp of the soul. A full-immersion into eco-activism, where participants shared visions, tools, and dreams. And oh, did they dream big..
What happened?

Youth from Finland, Spain, Greece, North Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, and Bulgaria worked side by side, breaking language barriers and building green bridges.

They designed sustainable local actions, created awareness campaigns, and formed a living, breathing eco-network called the Sustainability Treasure Chest—a Facebook group that still grows today.

Led by Re-Act’s team and our powerhouse sustainability coach Nedelina, the group learned how to lead locally, while acting globally.
But perhaps what moved us most was watching young people—some coming from communities where change feels distant—realize that they are the change.
They left Varvara not as participants, but as empowered eco-leaders ready to ripple impact across borders.
Why does this matter?
Because in a world facing climate crises, action matters. And so does hope. This project sparked both.
And we’re not done. This is just the beginning of a greener Re-Act legacy.
