MINDBLOOM
Empowering children through participation, safeguarding and community engagement
MINDBLOOM aims to strengthen childrenās participation, inclusion, and mental well-being, with a particular focus on those in vulnerable situations, including unaccompanied minors. It seeks to create safe, child-centred spaces for expression and engagement, while empowering children to actively take part in decisions that affect their lives. By combining peer-led activities, community engagement, and capacity-building for professionals, the project promotes democratic values, safeguarding, and more inclusive support systems across Europe.

MINDBLOOM
MINDBLOOM is a European project focused on strengthening the participation, well-being, and inclusion of children and young people, with a special focus on those in vulnerable situations, including unaccompanied minors.
The project brings together partners from across Europe to create safe, supportive, and empowering environments where children can express themselves, build confidence, and actively participate in decisions that affect their lives.
Through a combination of training, peer-led activities, and community engagement, MINDBLOOM promotes democratic values, mental well-being, and child protection, while ensuring that childrenās voices are heard and taken seriously.
What we do
Within MINDBLOOM, RE-ACT works directly with children, young people, and local communities in Bulgaria to:
- Create safe spaces where young people can meet, share, and feel supported
- Facilitate peer-led activities that encourage participation and self-expression
- Organise workshops and training sessions on topics such as mental health, inclusion, and rights
- Support children in developing confidence, skills, and a sense of belonging
- Engage local stakeholders to build more inclusive and child-friendly environments
Our approach is based on trust, participation, and real engagement ā not just consultation, but meaningful involvement.
Why it matters
Many children, especially those without stable support systems, face barriers to participation, inclusion, and well-being. They are often excluded from decisions that directly affect them.
MINDBLOOM addresses this by:
- Giving children a voice and space to be heard
- Supporting their mental and emotional well-being
- Promoting inclusive communities
- Strengthening connections between young people and institutions
We believe that participation is not a privilege, but a right ā and that every child should have the opportunity to be involved.
The project activities are divided into six work packages (WPs):
- WP1 covers project management and ensures effective coordination, ethical compliance, and quality implementation
- WP2 focuses on prevention through civic awareness and participation training for children and young people
- WP3 develops and tests child-led safeguarding approaches to promote safety, inclusion, and well-being
- WP4 supports childrenās involvement in governance and contributes to policy advocacy at different levels
- WP5 strengthens community engagement and promotes democratic inclusion at local level
- WP6 brings together communication, dissemination, and sustainability of project results
Together, the work packages aim to empower children, strengthen inclusive communities, and promote meaningful participation across Europe.
